Welcome to ZSOG

ZSOG is an acronym for National Association of Zimbabwean
Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

Established in 1998, ZSOG is an affiliate member of ZIMA and FIGO. The organization draws its membership from Zimbabwean Obstetrician and Gynaecologists and other nationalities working in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwean obstetricians working outside Zimbabwe are eligible to be members.

ZSOG works with other professionals in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to develop guidelines and improve knowledge through research. Through its quarterly CME meeting and annual scientific meeting the association provides the platform to share experiences, disseminate research results and latest best practice information. ZSOG works closely with the national universities in providing up to date education and skills training in the field.

The association also works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care in developing and implementing programmes that improve women’s health. The association also represents its members in various committees set up by regulatory and representative bodies such as the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ), Health Profession Council (HPC). The association also negotiates with medical insurers and sets standard medical tariffs that are fair for its members and the patients.
